We are a luxury hotel located at the foot of the Cayucos pier.

The owners, two locals; one a surfer and the other an architect of award winning sand castles, had long wanted a place on the beach for themselves and their families where they could perfect their chosen avocations of surf and sand.

A place that welcomed sandy feet, beachcombing and fires on the shore, while not giving up the finer things to complement it all; great linens, soft beds, good wine, waves crashing beneath your balcony, breathtaking views, fireplaces, luxury baths and fabulous food. And, they wanted it away from the over crowded and overdone feeling of an all too typical California beach town. A place to celebrate life.

Who wouldn't!? A beach house. A family place to build memories and togetherness. A place for romance, a spot for recapturing calm and center. Someplace to return to recharge and refresh.

But, they didn’t want the responsibility of cleaning up between visits, they wanted someplace large enough to accommodate friends and family and they didn’t want to continually trek over from their homes (both within 30 miles) to check on the property.

The fates conspired, the tide turned in their direction; On The Beach Bed and Breakfast was born. They could have their beach home and share it with others.

On The Beach is not just a structure, a property; it’s a way of life-where all formality and cares are left behind. Wiggle your toes in the sand, watch the sunset from your balcony, luxuriate in our beds, awake to the smell of our incredible breakfasts, mingle with other guests during our Evening Gathering while sipping the local nectar of Bacchus; be as active or passive as you want…On The Beach.
